We have started "Uber-ing"

My wife and I are now driving for Uber, so of course I have to chart all the data I collect.

This visualization makes use of tabs to tell a story, showing the different views as you move from tab to tab.

Vancouver census data

Here I'm using Vancouver census data to show tabs.  Clicking on a tab (grey box at top) will show a different view of the census data.  This way we can see just the analysis we want.

Top 10 Libraries in LA County

Here I'm continuing to explore embedded webpages (clicking on a library name on the map or on the chart will cause a photo of the library to pop up), as well as custom shapes.

Closer to Home

I decided to play with some Los Angeles County data (since I live in LA County), and this is my first "viz" of 311 non-emergency calls.  There's too many distinct Services -- I may pick a department that only has a dozen or so and display that later.

Tableau is fun!

I created this dashboard in a few hours, after loading Tableau (https://public.tableau.com).  Data is from Tableau sample data sets (https://public.tableau.com/s/resources?qt-overview_resources=1#qt-overview_resources) with this link: https://public.tableau.com/s/sites/default/files/media/Resources/program1033archiveappendedtocurrent.xlsx

Neat, huh?
